JAMES FOLEY
James worked for over 20 years as a psychiatric nurse, 12 0f those years were in residential drug detox, Apart from this James has worked in numerous hospital settings apart from acute psychiatry.
James transferred to counselling work to enable him to work at a deeper level with the emotionally wounded.
James has experience and training with the following areas:
● Addiction, primarily substance abuse.
● Suicide prevention
● Bereavement, particularly in the area of suicide
● Psychiatric diagnosed illness
● Anxiety
● Depression
● Phobia
● Self harming behaviour
● Relationship issues (with individuals)
● Low self esteem
● The trauma of serious illness (as a cancer survivor himself)
James has worked with Pieta (House) for over 2 years.
Qualifications: James has a BSc in Nursing, Dip in Counselling and Psychotherapy, Cert in Choice Theory, Cert in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a Cert in Drugs Counselling and Intervention Skills. He has currently completed 4 modules of a Masters in Counselling
and Psychotherapy.
